Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve gathered some of the most common questions to help you get started with confidence.

What exactly are dangerous goods?

Dangerous goods are materials or substances that can pose risks to health, safety, property or the environment during transport. They include chemicals, lithium batteries, biological materials, dry ice, and many others.

Do I really need training if I rarely ship dangerous goods?

Yes. In most cases, regulations such as the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations require that anyone involved in preparing, handling, or shipping dangerous goods completes appropriate training and certification.

Do my employees need a training certificate issued directly by IATA?

No. IATA is a commercial trade association, not a government legislator. There is no international law requiring a training certificate to be purchased directly from IATA. As long as the training content is accurate and aligned with ICAO/IATA DGR guidelines—which all dangerousgoods.online courses are—the training is fully valid and compliant.

How long does it take to complete a course?

Depending on the topic, our courses typically take between 1 and 2 hours to complete. You can learn at your own pace and access the materials anytime.

Are these courses official and compliant with aviation regulations?

Yes, 100%. Under the global ICAO Technical Instructions and IATA DGR Chapter 7.1, training must be Competency-Based (CBTA) and role-specific. The regulations state that the employer is legally responsible for certifying their employees' competence. Our courses are fully aligned with these international standards, providing a legally compliant and cost-effective training solution.
